Handy Stopover
Second time at this site and still as tidy, quiet and handy as previously. No toilet facilities but a perfect stopover in a secluded local location. Half grass the other being hard standing. Next to river. Nice walks. Easy access. Always on my stop list.

Great overnight
Lovely aire by river, floor marked pitches with good service area. We found a single bar open in the town - very sleepy town with lots of hills. Pretty but difficult to spend money.

Very peaceful site
Enjoyed sitting with our door open listening to the birdsong alongside the Varenne river. It was very relaxing. A short stroll took us to the Bistro de la Varenne for lunch. Very popular and pleasant. In the morning we made a much more energetic walk literally up into town to buy some bread. It was worth it as we found (with help from locals) an excellent artisan bakery.

Not what I expected
This site was ok, small and felt like I was camping in someones back garden. There are houses on two sides. Pitches sloping and with some tree shade. The amount of space was not ideal for us as we was towing a trailer.
Hello Tony, Thank you for your feedback. However, the Ambrières les Vallées campsite is not an area where caravans are allowed, and the maximum length is 9 meters for reasons of space and maneuvering. Before your next stay, I invite you to consult the information sheet for the area to avoid this situation again. We look forward to seeing you on our sites. Emma
