Great location
Super location for visiting Amboise. However, the grass pitches are muddy and rutted. Fortunately, we didn't have heavy rain whilst we were there otherwise we would have struggled to get off the pitch. These pitches need to be hard standing to be used all year around.

Bien placé dommage que l entretien ne suis pas d énormes trous partout même sur l allé d accès avec des tarifs en hausse un effort pourrait être apporté pour l entretien des emplacements merci

The best thing about this aire is it's location, just a short stroll across the bridge to the interesting town of Amboise with it's three chateaux, troglodyte dwellings and pedestrianised main streets. The only draw back to the aire is that all pitches are on grass which is not ideal when the ground is wet. If a strip of gravel could be laid along the front of the parking area to allow the drive wheels to stay off the grass it would be much better.
Hello Angela, Thank you for your review of the Amboise service area where you stayed. Not all the network's caravan parks are asphalted. We offer a wide variety of sites, depending on their environment and facilities. During the autumn and winter, we invite you to use de-icing pads for your comfort and peace of mind. If you would like stabilised parking only, a description and photos of the area are available on our website and app. However, I will pass on your comments to the partner on site so that we can see what improvements we can make for your comfort. Great location for the town & everything Da Vinci related, grass pitches so a bit muddy when wet, all services, water, grey & black waste good, very quiet night, good stopover.

Bien située, proche du centre ville et du château. Emplacements non stabilisés, pas pratique quand il pleut.

Pourquoi cette aire dans le réseau ?
Champ peu entretenu des trous des bosses causé par les camping car qui s’y sont enlisés ( lorsqu’il pleut ne pas se garer les roues motrices trop loin du goudron) quelques endroits ont été comblés avec du calcaire mais pour le reste rien n’est fait. Les places ont été optimisé au maximum la vidange est impossible lorsqu’il pleut car les écoulements sont certainement partiellement bouché donc les eaux grises n’évacuent pas. Bref un tarif haut pour une aire qui n’en a que

OK for a winter stopover.
I spent one night here as the only visitor, but felt safe and secure. Nothing open nearby but I did not go out. Electricity worked. I did not try the water. The grey waste drain was flooded, but did not have to use it.

Great location
Great location, lovely old town. Pitches are on grass so were muddy. Fortunately was very cold/frosty overnight so managed to get off pitch ok. I wish it was clearer on app whether pitches are grass or some form of hardstanding.

Very Nice Town to Visit
Easy to find and access. Extremely quiet overnight. Soft grass pitches had obviously had some skidding and ruts that put us off parking on them however 2 of them had hard surface patches that we parked our driving wheels on. The toilet dump did not have any running water. We will revisit but only in dry weather. Town is nice. The main cafes/pubs/shops street was blocked from traffic on the evening making a nice night out.
